Accomodation & Services
This is a camping weekend and so accommodations are...wait for it... a tent.  This is a horse riding ranch/farm of 80+ acres and we will be utilizing the back 40.  There is a kitchen building towards the back of the main homestead which we will have access to for morning breakfasts should we want (or cook it up on your coleman at your site) and also has 2 bathrooms and 2 showers available for our use as well.  We also plan to have port-o-poti's somewhere in the back 40 should we need them (depends on attendance numbers).

There is no electricity except at the homestead so don't plan to bring electric lights, fridges, hairdryers, boom boxes (which will be destroyed or launched from the trebuche) with you.

There are 2 main camping areas, one of which is just across the creek from the kitchen building and I'll call this one the island campsite and the other is in the back 40 field where most all the planned activities will be held (I'll call this one the field campsite).

The island campsite is a nice camping area which is an easy/short walking distance to the kitchen/bathroom/shower building, swimming (the spring fed creek), the homestead.  I'd suggest families with kids and those with small bladders plan to camp here.  The field is a bit of a walk from the front homestead/kitchen building but this is where the activities are.  There is driving access to the back 40 but parking will be up front of the property at the homestead.

Depending on attendance numbers, we may primarily utilize the island area or we may locate everything (camping, banquet, events) in the back 40 field and this will be where you want to be.  Should we utilize the field primarily, you can still camp at the island site and walk back to the field for all activities (the island will be quiet if the BBQ/Banquet is at the field).  Also, if we utilize the field primarily we will ensure there's services such as port-o-poti's, water, fire pit etc. available.  In any case, if you have a water container, you should bring it.

The cost of admission includes the campsite but you are responsible for your own camping equipment.  There are some of you traveling from afar and we are in the process of arranging camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, etc.) for those people.  If your interested in this please contact us asap.

There are motels/hotels located in Wakefield (about 15 min away) and if your interested in staying in a hotel instead, please let us know and we'll assist you in getting that arranged.  There'll be a slight reduction in attendance cost as campsite costs are removed.  We'll deal with this on an individual basis.

With Safety in mind, the owners of the ranch (Carla in this case as Jean-Claude is boogying around in a wheelchair) are St. John's first aid qualified as are several OMSG members.  There is a hospital in Wakefield 15 min away and there is a voluntary fire dept/medical staff on call locally.  Also, if you have any allergies or medical concerns (bee stings, food types, asthma) please let us know so we are aware of your condition and can deal with it should a situation arise.

What To Bring;

- camping gear (tent, sleeping bags, cooking stuff, lounge/camp chairs, kitchen sink if you want/can fit it in.
- lanterns, torches and/or citronella things.
- 1-10gal water container
- food.  OMSG is providing a BBQ/Banquet on Saturday night but all other meals are your responsibility.  Again, Wakefield is close and you can purchase food there.
- cooler(s)
- all your medieval stuff
- your evening refreshments

Cost;

The cost for the weekend is ca$125/attendee.  this includes;
- campsite for 1 tent for the weekend (Fri/Sat night)
- all activities and seminars including Pete Katz seminar(s)
- Saturday evenings BBQ/Banquet (byob/refreshments)
- parking
- access to the ranch

In addition;

- For families add ca$20 for spouse/partner and ca$10/child for the weekend (staying in your tent).
- Additional tent site add ca$10/night.
- OMCW/03 T-shirt - ca$20  (these are limited so if you want one, reserve one right away).
- Archery Tournament ca$15/entrant.
- Horse back riding ca$20/hr.  Lessons ca$20/hr plus horse.  This is arranged through us directly with the ranch folks.  They can take groups of up to 8 riders at a time and if your interested, please let us know so we can give them a heads up of total rides expected.

Note;

- For attendee's sharing a tent, knock ca$20/night off the total attendee cost.
- For CAAMA members attending who are not going to be in armour or attending the seminars the cost will be ca$25/attendee plus ca$20/campsite/night.  Spouse/family costs are as above.
- OMSG members can invite a guest/family to attend Saturday as a spectator at ca$25/person plus ca$20/campsite for Saturday night.

BIG NOTE;

This is not a pay at the gate type of event so if your planning to attend, please let me know and send you cheque or money order to me at your earliest convenience.  If you want to confirm exactly what your cost breakdown is, I'll be happy to talk to each/anyone via email at <ajcvet@aemma.org>.  Unfortunately, we do not have on-line registration so please contact me via email to confirm your attendance, provide any medical info and/or if you have any questions.  Thanks and look forward to seeing you in Wakefield.
